Yael Stein was born in Australian and lives in New York City since 2013 was the character Lorna Morrello on Orange Is the New Black. Yael earned a bachelor's qualification from NIDA. From a young age, Yael has been lucky to be able to collaborate with some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of performance and visionaries behind the scenes in film as well as theatre and television. Yael has a successful career with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has made New York City her home following the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced this critically-acclaimed show. Yael founded The Cannery with her co-founders. The Cannery is a Bushwick Brooklyn studio, they support new creative writings and encourage innovative concepts.
